Chase Utley

I met him at a Philadelphia Phillies spring training game at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Florida in 2015.

Unfortunately, my Sharpie dried up at an inopportune time. You can tell that Chase tried signing his name twice just to see if he could get the pen working. I appreciate his effort.

Nine years later, I saw Chase at the 2024 Philadelphia Phillies fantasy camp at Paul Owens Training Facility at Carpenter Complex in Clearwater, Florida. I decided to try for another autograph since I was never happy with how my previous attempt turned out. While I didn't have the same card this time around, I went with a card I wished I had gone with. Thankfully this one turned out much better.

Chase signed a 2014 Topps card #502 and a 2015 Topps card #163.

  1. Dang, that sucks. It still looks better than my Sammy Sosa ball that got signed in Sharpie nearly twenty years ago
