I hate using blue Sharpie's. When I started collecting autographs I learned that black is the only color that won't fade. Sometimes when you're amongst a group trying for the same autograph, the person signing will just use the same pen for multiple items rather than switching pens for each person.
Still, I'm very happy that I was able to get it.

Joe signed a 1991 Leaf card #353. Two Springs later I attempted to get the March and August 1993 Beckett Baseball Card Monthly issues signed. The March issue was easy to get, he even took the time to personalize it for me, which I love. The August issue was a little tougher for me. Roberto Alomar and John Olerud were fairly easy to get since they were very willing signers for anyone who asked. For weeks Joe's autograph was missing from this cover. I'd bring it with me to each Blue Jays spring training game, hoping to finally have all 3 signatures.
One day, my brother, Brian was asked to be a bat boy for the game. Before the game had started, I handed my bother the magazine hoping he could get it signed. A few minutes later he comes out and hands me back the freshly signed issue. Mission accomplished.
It's Friday, so time to break up the card uploads.

This is a day that I’ll never forget. It was March 4, 1992. My senior class skip day. Days earlier I had asked Rob Ducey if he could donate any items to the East Lake Little League silent auction. He said he would, so I told him I was going to see the Blue Jays practice later that week. I get down there, see Rob, and he asks the security guard to let me in. Rob gave me a tour of the clubhouse, while all the players were still in there. He then invited me to sit on the bleachers and watch the players practice. He also gave me some great stuff to donate. The East Lake Little League was very thankful.
The next several autographs were all from this day. The players would just come over to me and sign before heading back into the clubhouse. Eddie signed a 1992 Fleer card #348.

I met him at Lansbrook Golf Course in Palm Harbor, Florida. He was another guy that I used to bump into a lot. One of my favorite memories was seeing him in a Target store a week after the 1992 World Series had ended. I told him his toss to first was the best I had ever seen. He got a laugh out of that.
