Aubrey Waggoner

On September 10, 2020, I decided to go through these 2 alphabetical boxes of baseball cards and pull random cards out. I would then look to see if I could find a mailing address online to send a card to.

I ended up writing and mailing out 11 letters that day. All addresses that I looked up myself, not listed on an autograph database, as far as I could tell.

I found what looked to be a legitimate address for Mr. Waggoner, so I wrote him a letter and included my card.

54 days later my card came back signed.

Jon Matlack

In October of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Jon Matlack. He shared a card with Tony Torchia and I was able to locate his address as well but I didn't want to risk having it lost in the mail, so I sent 2 cards to Mr. Matlack and the following letter.

Seven days later my cards came back signed.

Jon signed a 1973 Topps card #55 and a 1991 Line Drive AAA Pre-Rookie card #300, which I immediately sent out to Mr. Torchia the very next day. As of this posting, it has been 1,152 days since I sent my card to Mr. Torchia. Unfortunately, it was never returned to me.

Mike Proly

In October of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Mike Proly. My aunt used to work with him at his brother Pete's law firm. She told me that she would get me his autograph. I honestly don't remember if she ever got it for me. So, decades later, I decided to try on my own.

Eleven days later my card came back signed along with a nice note remembering my aunt.

Blair Gavin

I met him at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2020, when Phoenix Rising, whom he was an assistant coach for, came to play the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship Final.

This was my first in-person autograph in 7 months after COVID-19 virtually shut everything down in 2020. Ironically, the match ended up being canceled the day after I got this autograph after numerous Rowdies coaches and players tested positive for the virus.

Blair signed a 2011 Upper Deck Major League Soccer card #12.

Sam August

On September 17, 2020, I wanted to do something different with my TTM requests. I thought it would be fun to mail cards to players with the same last name and see which one comes back first. The players were Don August and Sam August. No relation between the two, as far as I could tell. I called it "An August Race in September."

Don August's address is well known, as he is very fan-friendly. Sam August only played in the minors, so his address isn't listed on autograph sites, so I had to locate it myself and hope that it was right.

36 days later my card came back signed. It was 24 days after Don August's card arrived.

Sam signed a 1991 Line Drive AA Pre-Rookie card #552.

Lance Rice

In October of 2020, I was browsing on Instagram when I saw someone post their return from Lance Rice. I had noticed that Lance had used his own return address sticker on the envelope and it was fully exposed (I have covered it on my site).
