Bryan Baar

In September of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Bryan Baar. I discovered that he was the manager of a sports complex in Michigan. I sent him my card and the following letter.

27 days later my card came back signed.

Bryan signed a 1991 Classic Best card #292.

Lance Rice

In October of 2020, I was browsing on Instagram when I saw someone post their return from Lance Rice. I had noticed that Lance had used his own return address sticker on the envelope and it was fully exposed (I have covered it on my site).

I checked to see if I had a card of him and sure enough I did, so I wrote him a letter and sent my card.

Eleven days later my card came back signed.

Jim Waggoner

On September 10, 2020, I decided to go through these 2 alphabetical boxes of baseball cards and pull random cards out. I would then look to see if I could find a mailing address online to send a card to.

I ended up writing and mailing out 11 letters that day. All addresses that I looked up myself, not listed on an autograph database, as far as I could tell.

I found what looked to be a legitimate address for Mr. Waggoner, so I wrote him a letter and included my card.

36 days later my card came back signed.

Luke Owens-Bragg

In September of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Luke Owens-Bragg. I discovered that he was a realtor in Texas, so I wrote him a letter and sent my card.

21 days later my card came back signed.

In September of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Sean Drinkwater. I found one and sent him my card and the following letter.

Steve Paasch

In September of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Steve Paasch. I had seen many players from this set play in Clearwater, Florida during spring training and or Instructional League but I didn't recall ever seeing Steve in person. So, nearly 30 years later, I wrote him a letter.

Nine days later my card came back signed.

Steve signed a 1994 Classic Batavia Clippers Team Set card #19.

Don August

On September 17, 2020, I wanted to do something different with my TTM requests. I thought it would be fun to mail cards to players with the same last name and see which one comes back first. The players were Don August and Sam August. No relation between the two, as far as I could tell. I called it "An August Race in September."

Don August's address is well known, as he is very fan-friendly. Sam August only played in the minors, so his address isn't listed on autograph sites, so I had to locate it myself and hope that it was right.

Don won the race. Twelve days later my card came back signed. He even included a note.

Dan Rogers

On September 17, 2020, I received a direct message on my Twitter account from a retired baseball player offering to send me his autographed baseball cards. I immediately responded and gave him my address to send it to.

Twelve days later the signed cards arrived. He even added a note with them.

Dan signed three 2013-15 San Rafael Pacifics Team Set cards.

Bill Abare

In August of 2020, I decided to seek out an address for Bill Abare. I discovered that he had an accounting firm in St. Augustine, Florida. I sent him my card and the following letter.

Two days after sending my request, I got an email from Mr. Abare.

Seven days later my card came back signed.

Dana Kiecker

In August of 2020, an autograph collector on Instagram posted a letter from Dana Kiecker about a scholarship fund that Mr. Kiecker and his wife had created. For a $1 donation, Dana would sign a card. I thought that sounded fair, so I wrote him a letter and sent my card along with a dollar bill.

Ten days later my card came back signed.

Don Sheppard

On May 8, 2020, I noticed an account on Instagram that liked 2 of my autographs that had been posted 5 years earlier. I didn't recognize the username but when I clicked on the account I saw the person's real name and immediately recognized it and knew it was someone that I had a card of.
I sent a private message to thank him for liking my posts and mentioned that I had a card of his that I would love to get signed. He said "...it ain't worth squat" but I told him that I just do this for the hobby. He gave me his address and then I wrote him the following letter and immediately sent it off.

Nineteen days later my card came back signed. I would've had it earlier if I had written my correct address on my self-addressed stamped envelope. The envelope had a yellow "return to sender" sticker on it, so thankfully it still found its way to me, albeit delayed by a few extra days.

Hsin-Chieh Lin

I met him at Paul Owens Training Facility at Carpenter Complex, the Philadelphia Phillies spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida in 2020.

This would end up being my last in-person autograph for a long time. The threat of COVID-19 in March of 2020, shut down just about everything the following day.
