Randy Arozarena

I met him at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2021, when Phoenix Rising came to play the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

His brother, Raiko, played for the Rowdies, and since the Tampa Bay Rays had a day game and the Rowdies were playing that night, I suspected that Randy would show up to watch. So, I brought my card of him just in case.

Bobby Reed

In February of 2021, I decided to seek out an address for Bobby Reed. I discovered that he owned a home building company in Tennessee, so I sent him my card and the following letter.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at things, Mr. Reed was no longer at that address. 68 days later I received my card back with a note explaining that my letter could not be forwarded to his new address. Also included with that letter were two Yogi Berra baseball cards, one of which was signed and had a certificate of authenticity.

I found another address to try for Mr. Reed, so I wrote him a new letter and mailed it off the very next day.

Eighteen days later my card came back signed.

Steve Hazlett

In January of 2021, I decided to seek out an address for Steve Hazlett. I discovered that he was a professional hunting guide. I found the address of the company that he guides for and sent him my card and the following letter.

Eighteen days later I got a "return to sender" because there was no mail receptacle at that address.

After a little more than a month, I tried again with another address that I had found. I scratched out the date on my original letter and replaced it with the date that I re-sent it on.

Sadly, that address didn't work for me either. 53 days later I got another RTS notice.

A fellow autograph collector on Twitter, @pintandrew, had success with Mr. Hazlett and gave me the address that he had sent to. So, once again, I scribbled out the previous date, wrote the current date, and sent it out for hopefully the third and final time.

Seven days later my card came back signed.
