I met him at Carpenter Complex, the Philadelphia Phillies spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida in 1996.
I nearly missed out on getting his autograph. Every weekend that spring, I'd be at the complex getting autographs from the Minor Leaguers. I was well aware of Ricky and all the hype surrounding him but didn't know I had a card of him. As I'm getting my cards prepared for another weekend of Minor League camp, I stumble across this card of Errick Williams. I then realized that that was Ricky. Thankfully, he was still in camp when I returned.
Ricky signed a 1995 Martinsville Phillies Team Set card.
