Big Boi

On November 13, 2018, Big Boi performed at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, Florida. As I was waiting outside, a security guard asked if I was looking for Christina Aguilera, I said: "no, I'm looking for the opener." He says, "ah, Big Boi. He's not here yet." He then suggested that I stand on the other end of the parking lot and try to wave him down as he enters the lot. I took his advice and walked around the venue to the other side. Shortly after arriving, I see two guys exiting the backstage area wearing Big Boi shirts and walking my way. I'm thinking that they're going to help direct traffic to help Big Boi get in. I watch them and see them cross the street and then walk into a nearby hotel. I headed over there, knowing that Big Boi had to be staying there. Sure enough, I was right.
Big Boi signed the front cover of his half of the OutKast Speakerboxxx/The Love Below CD.

The Sh-Booms

I met them (Mizz Bren, Bryan Sherbrook, Nick Walsh, Al Ruiz, Kevin Connolly, Mike Ortiz, and Davis Schleicher) before their show at The State Theatre on November 18, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

I arrived early to the venue hoping to meet Talib Kweli, who was headlining the show. I was unfamiliar with the Sh-Booms, who were opening for him. I had looked them up on YouTube the night before to familiarize myself with their music. When I arrived at the performer's entrance behind the venue, I recognized the Sh-Booms standing around. After a few minutes, Mizz Bren walked by me and I stopped her to tell her that I was a big fan of their song, "Usage Fee."

She thanked me and then told me that she was going to give me something when she gets back. When she returned she told me to come with her to meet the band. She then went inside and grabbed a CD of theirs and offered to have them all sign it for me.

The Sh-Booms signed their Usage Fee E.P. CD.

Nas

Nas had a concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida on September 21, 2017.

I saw his tour bus parked not too far from the venue and patiently waited for him to come out. Unfortunately, his bodyguard approached me and said that once Nas exits the bus, he won't have time to stop and sign, he'll be immediately escorted into a car and driven to the venue. The guard then offered to take my CD on the bus for Nas to sign as long as I agreed to not hang around waiting or telling others where Nas would be. I agreed and he took my CD cover and brought it to Nas and then had it back to me a minute or two later.

Nas signed the cover of his Illmatic CD.

Blackalicious (The Gift of Gab & Chief Xcel) and Lateef the Truthspeaker

On August 12, 2015 I went to see Blackalicious perform at The State Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL.

As the show was ending, the group wanted to take a picture of themselves with the crowd behind them. I'm in the front wearing the blue and white striped shirt.

It was a poor choice of pen on my part as the autographs are very hard to read. Chief Xcel signed the front cover of his group's debut CD, Nia. The Gift of Gab signed the back of the booklet in the upper right corner. Lateef the Truthspeaker, who I wasn't aware was going to be there, also signed the back cover. He appears on track 13, Smithzonian Institute of Rhyme.

Naughty by Nature

On July 17, 2015, Treach and Kaygee of Naughty by Nature performed at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Florida as part of the Clearwater Threshers Summer Concert Series.

I met Kaygee first. During the opening act, he walked right next to me to see the show. I recognized him immediately and asked him to sign my CD.
An employee of the Threshers saw that I was getting my CD signed and said he'd help me get Treach to sign it. A few minutes later the employee tells me to follow him. He leads me into the front office of the stadium where Treach and Kaygee are sitting, waiting their turn to go on stage.

Six months later, on January 30, 2016, Naughty by Nature returned to Florida, this time, it was all 3 members performing at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida. Before the show, I was able to get VinRock to sign my CD cover. Unfortunately, the pen didn't work out so well.

Naughty by Nature (Kaygee, Vin Rock, and Treach signed their self-titled Naughty by Nature CD.

Raekwon

On January 8, 2015, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon performed at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Tickets were $25 but for an additional $15 at the gate you could get a VIP ticket which included a meet-and-greet after the show. I already had a regular ticket since my brother gave it to me for Christmas, so I paid the extra that night to get the VIP access.

The VIP area ended up being roped off, so you really didn't get to meet them. If you wanted something signed, you had to hand it to one of their handlers who then passed it on. I should have just waited. A few minutes after getting my signed CDs back, I called out to Raekwon to see if I could get a picture with him. He motioned for me to come on over, so my brother and I were able to get pics with him and Ghostface.

Raekwon signed the cover of his Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... CD, which Ghostface also ended up signing.
