I met him at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Florida in 2019, when the Houston Astros, whom he was the pitching coach for, came to play the Philadelphia Phillies in a spring training game.

Brent signed a 1991 Line Drive AAA Pre-Rookie card #622.

Bob Skinner

In January 2019 I found a great deal on eBay for 2 sealed boxes (AA & AAA) of 1991 Line Drive Minor League cards. I started to open the AAA packs first. Shortly into opening those packs, I pulled a card of Bob Skinner. I had never had a card of him, and I knew that he was a great signer thru the mail, plus, his son Joel had just been recently named the Minnesota Twins AAA manager, so I knew I'd have a chance at meeting him that spring. So, I decided to go ahead and see if I could get the father first by mailing him a card and then hoped that his son travels to my area when the Twins played in Clearwater.

Sadly, I had injured myself just days before spring training games had begun and missed 3 weeks' worth of games, including my chance of seeing Joel.

Seven days later my card came back signed.

Bobby Abreu

I met him at Carpenter Complex, the Philadelphia Phillies spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida in 1999.

If you've been following along daily, you might be wondering how I went from Ramon Castro's autograph in 1997 to Bobby Abreu in 1999. I had moved from Florida in the fall of 1997 and spent a little over a year living in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the autograph collecting was put on hold during that time.

Bobby signed a 1996 Fleer Excel card #169.
