Jeffrey Irish

In February of 2021, I decided to seek out an address for Jeffrey Irish. I sent him my card and the following letter.

Fourteen days later my card came back signed and he included a note back.

Phil Clark

I met him at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Florida in 2019, when the Detroit Tigers, whom he was the assistant hitting coach for, came to play the Philadelphia Phillies in a spring training game.

Phil signed a 1988 Star Lakeland Tigers Team Set card #7.

I met him at Paul Owens Training Facility at Carpenter Complex, the Philadelphia Phillies spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida in 2019.

Rob signed a 1988 Star Lakeland Tigers Team Set card #24.

Jeff Ciszkowski

I met him at a Minor League Clearwater Threshers game at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Florida in 2017.

I've seen this guy at Threshers games for years. First as an usher and then working security. One day I'm at the stadium, talking with one of the security personnel about baseball and I casually mentioned that I was a New York Mets fan. He then tells me that one of his fellow co-workers was a former Met in their Minor League system. My ears suddenly perked up and I immediately asked for that person's name. He tells me the name and I looked him up when I got to my seat. I discovered that he had several cards of himself, so I ordered one that night. Five days later I return to the stadium with the card and find him working in the tiki bar seating area. He got such a big kick at seeing his card. I shared it with several of his co-workers (with his permission) and they all got a big laugh out of it. It was a pretty cool experience.
