On May 27, 2000, I went to Wild 98.7's Old School Jam, which featured Tone Loc, Slick Rick, Sir Mix-A-Lot, and Run-DMC.
This was my second time seeing Sir Mix-A-Lot perform. The first was my very first concert in 1988 at a club called Moonbeams in Clearwater, Florida.
I didn't collect autographs back then, though I did get to meet Sir Mix-A-Lot that night. I just remember him putting his arm around my shoulder and me staring down at his massive 4-finger ring.
I was hoping to meet him again this night but alas it didn't happen. I did happen to recognize his fellow group member walking outside the arena after the show.

On April 1, 2006, Main Street Lounge in Louisville, Kentucky hosted a free turntablist show featuring D.J. QBert, Rob Swift, Grand Wizard Theodore, and D.J. Steve Dee.
After the show I saw Grand Wizard Theodore and Steve Dee waiting outside for a cab. I had the phone number to the taxi company in my phone, so I gave it to Steve so he could call and get them a ride back to their hotel.

After he got the third out I immediately ran to the dugout to seek his autograph. He points to the scoreboard and says "after the game." It was then that I realized there was still an inning to go. As promised, J.J. came over to sign at the conclusion of the game.
